For World Book Day Sara reads the famous book 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle and then retells the book as a yoga stretchy story. This story is all about change - the egg changes into a caterpillar, the caterpillar changes from being tiny to big and fat and finally he becomes a beautiful butterfly. Through the story children can begin to understand that change a part of normal life for every living thing. Change, even positive change, is often uncomfortable but it is a part of all life. It is ok that it may make us feel nervous, fearful or anxious. We can use our breath, our positive self talk and seek support to help us cope. Change can become something beautiful!

As I can't teach my PE yoga lessons in schools at the moment I thought I would share this Super Hero Yoga PE video which is for Primary age children. I hope the session leaves you feeling powerful!

Be Balanced, Be Strong, Be Brave, Be Kind, Be You - Be a Wonder Warrior! At The Wonder Tree I encourage children and young people to 'be brave.' I am currently trying to be brave myself by confronting my fear of videoing myself! Here is a short video of my Wonder Warrior yoga sequence. Using affirmations and yoga Warrior poses the aim is to grow children's self belief, helping to find and feel their inner and outer strength.
