Belly Balloon / Balloon Breath

Balloon Breath

This is a great activity to introduce your child to deep, slow breathing.

1. Sit with your legs crossed and your back tall or lie down on your back.

2. Place your hands on your belly and close your eyes.

3. Pretend your belly is a balloon. As you breathe in slowly feel your belly balloon filling your hands.

4. As you breathe out slowly, feel the air leaving your belly balloon.

Challenges:

Tricky - breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your mouth. (Younger children).

Trickier - breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your nose.
