Build Resilience to Reduce Bullying

The Wonder Tree’s mission is to empower children, to grow their inner and outer strength. Each session starts and ends with the Sanskrit word ‘nameste’ which ultimately means ‘respect’. It is the class rule – to respect yourself and others. By combining the power of yoga and mindfulness with fun and games The Wonder Tree provides classes which make children happy, build resilience and the 5 self’s: self-respect, self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and self-regulation.Look with Wonder - at yourself and others! Let’s build children’s resilience and reduce bullying!

Mindful Moment

Belly Balloon / Balloon Breath This is a great activity to introduce your child to deep, slow breathing. 1. Sit with your legs crossed and your back tall or lie down on your back. 2. Place your hands on your belly and close your eyes. 3. Pretend your belly is a balloon. As you breathe in slowly feel your belly balloon filling your hands. 4. As you breathe out slowly, feel the air leaving your belly balloon. Challenges: Tricky - breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your mouth. (Younger children). Trickier - breathe in slowly through your nose and out through your nose.
